The Annual Community Clean Up is planned for Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 9 AM to 1PM.
Volunteers are needed for this project and can be used in a number of ways . We can use assistance in cleaning the downtown area, counting loads at the land fill and with the barbecue.
The landfill will be taking clean burnable debris at no charge. It can not have any paint or nails, but all those pesky limbs and woody materials that you want to get rid of will be free at the landfill the entire day.
Lets just hope we get some good weather before then. Contact the Chamber office if you can lend a hand to make this community project a success.
Double the Fun
The Lake County Chamber of Commerce is only one of two Chambers in Oregon that sponsors Elderhostel programs. This year we have three separate programs planned and two of them are coming up soon.
The first is a Birding Program scheduled May 4-9, 2008 and is becoming more popular every year. A big part of the success of the program is that our government agencies lend their Biologists to fill the education component of the program.
The second program is June 8-13, 2008 and will feature ranching. We will visit several local ranches to teach our visitors about the industry. The third Elderhostel this year is a Geology program in September.
